Marjorie Menza is Fellowship Director and a Senior Attorney dedicated to recruiting Trial Impact Project’s fellows and ensuring each receives meaningful training over their two-year fellowship, both through formal programs and on-the-ground work experience.  Marjorie’s practice focuses on police misconduct and 1983 claims, and as a Spanish speaker, she works closely with TIP’s Spanish speaking clients across the organization’s docket of cases.

Prior to joining TIP, Marjorie was the first Pro Bono Counsel at the international law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. There, she supervised hundreds of attorneys performing thousands of pro bono hours per year, from individual representation in New York City Housing Court to high-impact litigation before Circuit Courts of Appeal throughout the United States and in Supreme Courts overseas. Marjorie also managed her own docket of pro bono matters, including eviction defense, reproductive rights and U-visas for Spanish-speaking victims of trafficking, the latter earning her the Her Justice award of Pro Bono Liaison of the Year. Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Marjorie taught Legal Research and Writing at both USC Gould School of Law and UCLA School of Law and worked as an attorney at Hueston Hennigan LLP, where her practice focused on complex civil litigation and arbitration.
